Our Story
Provide financial assistance and emotional support to Columbus Students who have lost a parent during their time attending the school.
The recent loss of our dear and fellow Christopher Columbus HS alumni, Carlos Guillermo Fernandez Jr., has inspired the school to establish a foundation coined “Carlito’s House”.
The Carlito’s House Foundation helps to provide financial assistance and emotional support to Columbus Students who have lost a parent during their time attending the school.
In everlasting memory of Carlos, the impetus of our mission is to commence a tradition of providing families who suffered a loss, the opportunity for their son to attend Christopher Columbus HS. These young men will reach the standards of pride in the name of Jesus Christ when joining the brotherhood of being an “Explorer” like their fathers.
Carlos was loyal to his alma mater and dreamed of having his sons follow his legacy.
As an offensive line Columbus football player, Carlos learned the importance of teamwork, hard work, and developed a competitive spirit. Mentoring younger athletes, Carlos hoped to prepare young athletes to embrace a life of personal excellence. His football number, #64, will continue its lineage to the following star that shines as bright as Carlos did.
Though the Lord called Carlos G. Fernandez Jr. home, his legacy of loyalty, high ideals, bonds of friendship, and education found in CCHS blessed him. The Foundation’s goal is for other young men to receive this blessing.
The Fernandez family praises our Lord with loyal hearts. The Holy Spirit will lead us until we meet again.
